Equipment Needed:
3 to 5 golf balls
Chipping wedge (e.g., pitching wedge, sand wedge, or lob wedge)
Markers or targets placed at 10, 20, and 30 yards
Practice area (backyard, golf course chipping green, or driving range)
Warm-Up (1 Minute):
Dynamic Stretches: Perform arm circles, torso twists, and leg swings to loosen up your muscles.
Practice Routine:
1. 10-Yard Chip Shots (3 Minutes)
Setup: Place a marker or target at 10 yards.
Execution:
Take 1-2 practice swings focusing on a smooth, controlled motion.
Hit 5 chip shots to the 10-yard target.
Focus on a consistent setup and maintaining a relaxed grip.
Observe the ball's trajectory and landing, adjusting your swing as needed to improve accuracy.
2. 20-Yard Chip Shots (3 Minutes)
Setup: Move to a marker or target at 20 yards.
Execution:
Take 1-2 practice swings, slightly adjusting your backswing length to accommodate the longer distance.
Hit 5 chip shots to the 20-yard target.
Concentrate on a smooth follow-through and proper weight transfer.
Make note of any changes in ball flight or distance control and make necessary adjustments.
3. 30-Yard Chip Shots (3 Minutes)
Setup: Move to a marker or target at 30 yards.
Execution:
Take 1-2 practice swings, ensuring a slightly longer backswing and controlled acceleration through the ball.
Hit 5 chip shots to the 30-yard target.
Focus on maintaining balance and a steady tempo.
Assess your distance control and accuracy, making swing adjustments as needed.
Cool Down and Reflection (1 Minute):
Review: Spend a minute reflecting on your practice session. Consider what worked well and what areas need improvement.
Stretch: Perform light stretching to relax your muscles, focusing on the shoulders, arms, and back.
