With the Club Championship, Member/Guest and charity golf event season upon us, we understand that your time is precious. Balancing work, life, and golf can be challenging, especially when events put added pressure on your game. That’s why we’ve designed this 10-minute daily practice plan to help you stay sharp and focused, even with a busy schedule.
Why This Plan Works:
Events bring a different kind of pressure to your game. Practicing under pressure conditions in advance can make those moments feel more familiar and manageable. Our daily practice plan is designed to mimic the pressure you might face during your event, ensuring you’re well-prepared and confident when it counts.
CardioGolf® Daily 10-Minute Practice Plan
1. Putting (2 minutes)
Drill: Short Putts with Confidence
Focus: Practice 3-5 putts from 3-5 feet, hitting them firmly to ensure they drop in. Aim to avoid leaving putts short.
Tip: This drill helps you get used to the pressure of making those must-make putts in your event.
2. Chipping (2 minutes)
Drill: Up-and-Down Challenge
Focus: Set up 3-4 different lies around the green and aim to get each ball within 3 feet of the hole.
Tip: Use different clubs to adapt to various lies and situations, simulating real-course conditions.
3. Iron Shots (2 minutes)
Drill: Target Practice
Focus: Choose a target at a medium distance. Take 5-7 swings, focusing on solid contact and consistent ball flight.
Tip: Visualize different targets, like a flagstick or landing zone, to replicate on-course scenarios.
4. Driving (2 minutes)
Drill: Controlled Power
Focus: Practice hitting 3-5 drives with a focus on accuracy over distance. Ensure you’re swinging within yourself to maintain control.
Tip: Imagine a narrow fairway to add a pressure element similar to what you’ll face in your event.
5. Mental Focus (2 minutes)
Drill: Pre-Shot Routine Practice
Focus: Go through your pre-shot routine as if you were on the first tee of your event. Visualize the shot you want to hit.
Tip: Reinforcing your routine helps calm nerves and create consistency under pressure.
Final Thoughts
Even with a tight schedule, these focused 10-minute sessions will help you maintain your skills and prepare for the pressure of competitive play. Remember, consistency is key, and short, targeted practices can be incredibly effective. Keep your focus, stay positive, and enjoy the game!
